The Nature Of Meditation

‘The goal can not be reached as there is no distance.

Free of goal or destination, mediation alone is.

Meditation does not refer to an activity or actor.

Meditation is the Self.’

So it's a beautiful opportunity to speak to meditation directly.

What is the Nature of meditation? What is the pull for this? Where does it come from?

Every being is seeking, consciously or not.
Meditation is seeking, it often has a goal, a sense of outcome and yet the so-called goal of meditation is the complete absence of outcome. Mind seeks to come to rest, what is this mind?
The appearance is, that there is a goal in meditation, it does not go to the root of the dilemma.

The subject seeks the object, the object can never be apprehended. Tendency is seeking, who is the seeker?

The tendency is for the upward arc as reach, it seeks its reflection in objects. This only serves to substantiate the separate subject, so the search continues.

The moth is drawn to the Flame, so to when a piece of paper is lit by the Flame it loses its individuality. It merges with the Flame.

It seeks for many many many lifetimes. It seeks itSelf. It is determined by otherness.

There is no other.

Meditation is your Natural state, there is no doer of meditation, Meditation is the end of the mediator. There are many forms of Samadhi, Nirvakalpa, Savikalpa, all these are modifications of Consciousness.

Sahaj Samadhi is Unbroken Meditation, Undivided, Seamless, Undifferentiated, not determined by conditions, It Is your Natural State.

This is where the mind comes to rest, what is sought is for the tendency of the outward reach to come to rest.

Meditation is not for someone. Beingness dissolves into Beingness, as such there is the recognition there is no dissolving. This is the end of distance where the dilemma that is the reach of meditation is separation. There is no attainment, the desire for a goal comes to a rest. It appears to come to rest within, but there is neither inside nor outside. This is only recognized As Knowing. Knowing is free of a knower, this is the end of distance.

Unbound, Unlimited, Unconditioned, Still.

Longing of meditation, is the longing for itSelf. Consciousness recognizes itSelf. There is a Great Love for this Consciousness. Consciousness is not an object, it does not determine a separate subject, there is no i me or mine in relation to Consciousness. One is not a container of Consciousness, one appears in Consciousness.

What knows mind?

Natural State is stateless. Awareness of Awareness.

Longing for meditation as the crisis of separation. At its root one seeks to merge with what One Is. There is no division, there are not two, there is but one without a second, so there is nowhere to go, nothing to attain. One is always at Meditation.

The question is, what is the movement from this? When there is in fact neither to nor from. It's a question of understanding and surrender. Recognize the Devotion in the longing.

Love of meditation appears secondary, in fact one is meditated.

That which is called meditation Is Self-evident, Is Self-radiant. This Radiance Is the Knowing of Meditation itSelf.

This is the end of the outward reach. The inward turn is the Fundamental turn, but the seeker does not want to disappear.

Silence Is the substratum.

One is determined by appearances, then meditation appears to be a separate practice or function. The Flame is in the match before it is struck. It is simply that the tendency needs to come to rest which the mediator is identified as. Most mediators do not want to hear anything about the end of the i.

It's not a bodily practice, the body arises in Consciousness and so it is a play of modification.

Every tradition, every lineage, over many many lifetimes, speaks of one fact of meditation: The end of the illusion, of the meditator. This too is spontaneous.

All there is is That. Mind is but a notion. Where did you learn this notion? Mind itself is a thought, the thought of a thinker which determines a separate knower.

This is the subject object play, this is the state of the seeker, this is the common condition. Where is this i in the sleep state.

Longing for meditation is the same as longing for deep sleep, there are no objects in deep sleep. Happiness is not found in objects.
There is only one I to which every i refers, this Is the Self.

This is what meditates you. The longing longs for itSelf. You are always serving That.

This is Grace. This is the Nature of Devotion.
The very Awareness of Consciousness.
There is not my consciousness and your consciousness, there is but Consciousness.

You Know the mind, You are not the mind. You Know the body, You are not the body.

Meditation has but one goal, which appears in many forms.

What knows that? What is the Nature of this sharing?

Samana is your Natural State. I Am not other. There are not two. This is your condition. Undetermined by appearances. That which is speaking, that which is hearing, Is the Same. There is no distance.

Meditation is about the end of difference for no one.
